E-MTB Week Southern Albania

Individual arrival at Tirana airport (no later than 4 pm), from where we will pick you up. We'll take
care of everything and organize it for you – from start to finish!
As a group, we'll then depart in the late afternoon with a minibus transfer (2 hours) from Tirana to Berat, this UNESCO
World Heritage Site "City of a Thousand Windows" with its characteristic Ottoman facades. We'll check into a
fantastic hotel right in the historic old town and enjoy a group dinner there – a wonderful start to our e-MTB adventure

In the morning, we'll take a short stroll through Berat's beautiful old town. Then our bike tour begins, following a bumpy
track dating back to the communist era, past gnarled olive trees. We'll frequently encounter "lapidare," the white
partisan memorials scattered throughout the country. We'll have a picnic lunch along the route, somewhere in the shade
of the olive trees with a beautiful view. The day's destination is a simple but lush guesthouse (shared rooms) nestled in
nature, where a delicious meal made with local ingredients awaits us after our first day of biking

Today's bike route:

A very varied mountain biking day lies ahead. We'll be riding along the now well-known Vjosa River,
one of the last free-flowing rivers in Europe. In the morning, the route will take us along natural tracks
and through secluded nature, while in the afternoon it will partly follow small streams.
Roads – but with little traffic and always with a view of the crystal-blue waters of the Vjosa River. For
lunch, we stop at a traditional restaurant right on the riverbank. In the evening, we arrive in the small
town of Përmet, not far from the Greek border, where we find comfortable accommodation, a relaxed
atmosphere, and an excellent dinner at a slow-food restaurant.
Expected. Well-deserved enjoyment for hungry e-bikers!
Today's bike route:

A long – and a particularly beautiful – day awaits us! Right after the start, we'll pass the open-air
thermal springs of "Benjë"; anyone who likes can take a short dip in the healthy, warm water. Then
the ascent begins, leading through partly wild terrain and along 4x4 tracks into increasingly remote areas

Area. We pass through traditional stone villages where time seems to have stood still. Soon we're biking right through the
"Bredhi Hotovë" National Park, one of Albania's most beautiful nature parks and famous for its dense, shady pine
forests. Lunch is a private meal with a mountain farming family in a small hamlet. It feels like the "end of the world" –

A place with wonderful food made entirely from homemade produce from their own garden and farm, and on top of that,
the warm, genuine Albanian hospitality. A truly memorable experience! The day ends in another rural guesthouse (shared
rooms), this one offering a relatively modern and comfortable standard. A leg of the journey full of authentic encounters and
fantastic bike routes.
Today's bike route:

Today we cross another mountain range deep into the Albanian hinterland, biking eastward from the Vjosa Valley towards
the Osumi Canyon. A short stretch of asphalt leads us to natural tracks and gravel as we climb a pass at 1000 meters.
We enjoy a picnic lunch with a magnificent view. This is followed by a long, varied descent directly into the spectacular
Osumi Gorge. We then wind down the day on a small side road, stopping briefly for photos with views deep into the
canyon. Overnight in Corovode, a small town at the foot of the "holy mountain Tomorr," in a simple but clean hotel.
Few things leave you sleeping as soundly as a day on the bike with plenty of fresh air, a bit of exertion, and
hundreds of new impressions!

Today's bike route:

Today we climb the highest point of the week. Our destination is Tomorr, the sacred 2200-meter-high
mountain in the heart of Albania. A leisurely morning ride along the Osumi River is followed by a
sometimes quite steep ascent – and it's here that we're grateful for the assistance of our (powerful) emountain
bikes. It would be tough on regular bikes, but the route is ideal for e-mountain bikes. In the
afternoon, we reach the hamlet of Ujanik at an altitude of 1500 meters. Here we check into our
accommodation, a well-maintained guesthouse with modern amenities (almost hotel-level) and private
rooms. The rest of the afternoon is free to explore the special atmosphere of this "sacred"
mountain (for the Bektashi, a local religious group; we'll tell you more about them when you arrive).

Today's bike route:

Our last day in the saddle offers more spectacular views and vistas. On the back side of the massive Tomorr
mountain, the trail leads us down into a secluded, dry riverbed. Along the way, we visit the Sotirë waterfall – one of the
most beautiful in Albania and the perfect summer refreshment. After lunch in a traditional restaurant and a final descent on
bumpy tracks past olive groves – what beautiful scenery! – we arrive back in Berat around 4 pm. Our journey
has come full circle! A two-hour transfer then takes us back to Tirana and our lovely mid-range hotel for the last night. We
celebrate our week together with a farewell dinner at a delicious seafood restaurant. A week full of lasting impressions –
from this surprisingly positive Albania, full of adventure, wild nature, and friendly people.
